Recipe Name: Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Frosting

One and half a cups of all-purpose flour

One and half a teaspoons of baking powder

Half a teaspoon of baking soda

A quarter teaspoon of salt

Half cups and two tablespoons of buttermilk

One and half a teaspoons of vanilla extract

Half a cup of unsalted butter (preferably at room temperature)

One cup of sugar

Three eggs

For the chocolate frosting:

Three cups of confectioners’ sugar

Half a cup of cocoa powder (unsweetened)

Half a cup of salted butter (at room temperature)

Four tablespoons of heavy cream

One teaspoon of vanilla


In the first step, preheat your oven to 350° F. now, take two nine inches of cake pans and grease them with oil.

After that, take a medium-sized bowl and add flour, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside.

Take a measuring cup and pour buttermilk and vanilla. Stir the mixture.

In a large bowl, add cream, butter, and sugar. Mix it all with an electric mixture. Keep mixing until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. After that, reduce the speed and add eggs to the bowl.

Now, add the flour and vanilla mixture in the bowl and blend well. And besides, vanilla mixture is commonly available in all food marts’ refrigerators such as Interlevin Lgf2500. 

Take the greased cake pans and pour the prepared mixture.

Bake them for 30 minutes. Now, remove the cake pans and let them sit.

Now is the time to prepare frosting for the cake. In a large bowl, add confectioners’ sugar and cocoa powder. Mix them well.

After that, add cream butter with one cup of sugar and cocoa. Mix all the items until they become smooth. After that, add another cup of sugar, cocoa, and a tablespoon of cream. Now, beat the mixture to make it well combined. Add the remaining sugar, cocoa, and cream mixture and mix again. Beat until the mixture become fluffy and smooth. Your frosting is ready. Spread it over the cake and put it in the refrigeration until the serving time.
